LifeRegistry is established as a structured, rules‑based membership registry. The following rules (the “Constitution”) govern the operation of the Registry, the rights and obligations of members, and the discretionary framework. These rules are binding on all members and the Registry.
1.1 Membership is open to UK residents aged 18 and up to age 55. The Registry may request proof of age and residency.
1.2 Membership is effective from the date of acceptance and payment of the Joining Fee. A membership confirmation will be sent by email.
1.3 Membership may be terminated by the member at any time by written notice. Termination will be effective from the date we receive the notice, provided all due fees are paid up to that date.
1.4 In rare cases, the Registry may end a membership — for example, where fees remain unpaid, information provided is false, or a member acts in a way that seriously harms the Registry or its members. We'll always act reasonably and explain our decision.
2.1 Fees and contributions are non‑refundable, except where the law requires otherwise or the Registry decides otherwise. Your £150 membership renews yearly, and you can cancel anytime before renewal, with no lock-in.
2.2 The annual membership fee is charged to the member’s payment card on file. If a payment fails, the member has 14 days to remedy; otherwise membership may be suspended or terminated.
2.3 The Registry may increase the annual membership fee by giving at least 30 days’ notice. A member who does not wish to accept the increase may cancel before it takes effect.
2.4 The Joining Fee is a one‑time setup fee, fixed when your membership is activated, and isn't refundable on cancellation.
3.1 Contributions are made in accordance with these published rules and the funds available at the time, so that support is allocated fairly and consistently across the membership.
3.2 Contributions are provided under these rules rather than as a fixed individual guarantee. Where a decision is needed, the Registry's decision, made in line with these rules, is final.
3.3 The maximum contribution bands are as stated in the eligibility schedule; the actual contribution reflects available reserves and individual circumstances.
3.4 If a member cancels and later rejoins, the eligibility timeline starts again from the new join date.
4.1 The Registry may amend these rules from time to time. Amendments will be published on the website and notified to members by email at least 14 days before they take effect, where practicable.
4.2 Amendments will apply prospectively. Where an amendment materially affects eligibility, it will generally apply only to new members unless the Registry determines that a change is necessary to ensure the sustainability of the framework, in which case reasonable notice will be given.
4.3 These rules are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
